So what is your morning routine like? Do you push snooze 10 times or do you jump out of the bed 5 minutes before the alarm because your anticipation of that horrible sound. I’m the second one…over the years I have found I loathe alarms…they remind me I have to do something and that means I no longer can be the way I was I have to move and change my behavior. So I anticipate it and usually am awake before it goes off. I dont know if that’s good because I might not trust it completely and am afraid I will over sleep or I’m being controlling. But either way I have been like that most of my life. Now I am completely different when it comes to my car. I will see the little low fuel light telling me it’s time to fill up and I stretch it alittle more each time. I have been so lucky but I also have run out of gas quite a few times. MY HUSBAND WILL ATTEST TO THIS AND GIVE A HEARTY AMEN!!! Alarms are very very good things. They warn us of infinite danger ahead….fire alarms, tornado alarms, intruder alarms. If we ignore these alarms what happens? We could be hurt or even lose our lives. All alarms are made for our good to keep us safe. Most of the time we will act like they are keeping us from something good instead of protecting us.
- Joel 2:1-2
Blow the trumpet in Zion,
And sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble;
For the day of the LORD is coming,
For it is at hand:
The bible is filled with alarms and warnings and messages from the Lord warning us of what is to come and giving us ample direction of the actions to take to prepare and protect ourselves.
Will we heed them or hit the snooze button one to many times and miss out or run out of Gas and be unable to function in our world.
FOLLOW YOUR INNER ALARMS AS WELL…. God has given us the Holy Spirit to act in our behalf.
John 16:13 ESV
When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.
Life would be so much easier for all of us if we would heed the warnings and alarms in our life instead of thinking we can do things better and in the end paying consequences for our actions.
