I don’t need anyone!

How many of you can attest that sometimes it feels like people are more work and drama then they are worth. They let us down while expecting us to do the exact thing they are inept in themselves.

So we get angry and shut ourselves away. We swear to never rely on anyone ever again. We won’t open ourselves to that kind of let down again. We get angry and bitter.

Then the storms come…the winds beat at our resolve and the rain dampen our spirit and flood our emotions with self doubt. Soon we are lonely and angry and unable to stand any longer.

We aren’t created to face life alone.

The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
Genesis 2:18

Right from the beginning God wanted us in community with one another. We hold each other up during the times we are our weakest.

In California there is a redwood forest. I haven’t been there but I have seen pictures and have read about it. The trees are massive and there is alot of them. You would think that the height and width of these trees would require thier root system to be massive and deep to keep them standing. But it’s the exact opposite. They have a very shallow root system. But because there is so many trees the roots are entangled together and eventually meshed as nearly one large root system that is amazingly strong. They are holding each other up.

This is how God intended us to live. Entangled in a community with others and bearing each others burdens.

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
1 Corinthians 12:26

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2 NIV

Dont be alone today. If your struggling reach out. You need a support system. None of us can escape the storm we all need shelter from time to time.

Start growing together with some good people and watch how strong you will be and how your able to stand through the storms of life. Soon you will be holding up the others in your community as well.
